Power of the Pause. Drama of the Paws.

In this moment, stop whatever you are doing. Just for a moment. Slow down. Take a deep breath. Take in your surroundings. Take in your place in the world.

What do you see in the space of your life?

How big is that space? What’s there now?

What would you have there if you could have anything?

Oh geez, it’s been too long since I’ve shared. But here I am. In a space of inspiration - The Week of Inspiration to be exact - that my Goddess friend Tawney and I have created for ourselves, to share with others - an idea born in Terminal D at the Philadelphia International Airport: let’s spend the flight home listing every inspiring thing we can possibly fill our week with. An idea perhaps partly born out of fear for the looming freedom waiting for us at home… and partly because an abundance of inspiration is never a bad idea.

Today I spent the entirety with 28 million thoughts. Each a different shade of emotion and degree of intention, involving every person in my life. My mind working overtime to fill the empty space of not-yet-materialized possibilities. It took no time at all to overthink and overheat. What’s the hurry? I say now as the gift of reflection presents itself. Take a breath. Let the power of the pause resonate. As the validity of my limitations grows more and more transparent, I start to see past to the vastness of my world. My world. The size of it is almost terrifying… but so, so exciting. I write this as a 4 year old holding a box of crayons in front of a white wall… devilish grin included.

It took a housemate groaning from stepping in a sludgy pile of kitty diarrhea to interrupt my torment of hurricane thoughts. Oh no! 4 piles of upset kitty stomach all over the house. Tawney and I discovered each just after we painfully wiped up what we thought was the last sticky mess.. only to discover another.. another… another. A task much familiar by now - cleaning up kitty messes. (Another story for another time: kitty potty training & proper cleaning for urine off mattress/comforter). By the end of it we shut every door to the bedrooms and kept our line of vision between the 2 cats… paranoid and ready for one of them to make the next move. Overwhelmed!!

And the dawning of perspective.

Only what you color with importance is important.

And if the intensity of thoughts overwhelms, gift yourself the power of the pause. Because you are worthy of that.

In my moment of stillness, clarity showed up. I made a phone call I committed to making, and received much needed nourishment. I sat with my journal is the sunlight, and wrote a note to me:

Natalie,
Paint your world… What would your world look like if you were given the brush to paint? Imagine everything to be possible. Consider yourself willing to have what you don’t deserve. Be fearless in thought and as specific as you can get. Start painting. What does the canvas look like?

In love & clarity, Me

Now I am grinning from ear to ear. So excited to have this gift of S P A C E and CREATION.

Anything I want!

Here goes nothing….

And everything...

  3. You are a beautiful being. :) Great for you to share your thoughts!

I hope kitties are okay btw.. One of my kitties attacked us with kitty sick all over when she accidentally had some milk. She made sure we won't let her drink milk in the future that way.
